I am Holly Essler, Therapist and Owner of Empowering You Therapy LLC. From my roots in North Dakota, I ventured to the captivating state of Arizona in 2018. The warm weather and outdoor wonders have become a source of inspiration for me.

Deep within each of us lies an incredible strength, capable of transforming our lives. As your therapist, I am here to walk alongside you, offering unwavering support, empathy, and a judgment-free space. During my own moments of rejuvenation, you'll find me cherishing the company of my husband and our two precious fur babies. Exploring nature through hiking, skiing, and indulging in the thrill of travel invigorates my spirit. I also find solace in the pages of a good book, in heartfelt conversations with friends, and in the gentle practice of yoga. Laughter, to me, is an essential ingredient in the recipe of life, a constant reminder of joy and resilience.

Marlayna Anderson, LMSW


Hello My name is Marlayna Anderson. As your therapist, my mission is to be sensitive to your  beliefs and values by providing you with a supportive non-judgmental safe space that allows you to open up and talk freely. Together we well work on identifying your goals and get to the core of what is concerning you in your everyday life; whether that be challenges from a past or current relationship, work/school, family conflicts, anxiety or grief. My aim is to elevate you in achieving your full potential!

I have success in empowering young adults who are in school and transitioning to post graduation to adults who are transitioning within their careers and personal life. I am also an EMDR trained clinician who provides support to adults who have experienced traumatic events

in their past. My approach to therapy is client centered and I believe in tailoring my therapeutic techniques around you to meet your needs. You can count on me to be there every step of the way.

I have been providing care for 8 years working in diverse populations. My experience ranges from working in correction facilities with those struggling with addiction to working in Palliative and Hospice care. I am born and raised in Arizona and am an Alumni of Arizona State University. In my spare time I enjoy spending time outside, reading, art and relaxing with family.

Kat Schofield, LAC



My name is Kat Schofield, I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. After graduating from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, I decided to pack up and move to this sunny state of Arizona. In my free time, I enjoy unplugging on long walks, high intensity workouts, yoga and meditation, reading, writing, and spending time with my sisters who double as my best friends. 


I believe that taking the first step towards beginning therapy can be a challenging one and finding the right therapist is an important piece to the process. I will work collectively with my clients to explore new strategies and therapeutic techniques that will help them navigate their life experiences to create a more full and meaningful life. 


My background includes working with teens and young adults who struggle with life transitions, self-esteem, body image, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I am experienced in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, while utilizing a holistic approach in my practice. I strive to provide a warm, empathetic and supportive environment for self-exploration and growth. I will be there to support my clients through their current struggles and past experiences.


I prioritize building a non-judgmental, collaborative and effective therapeutic relationship that promotes trust and safety while challenging my clients to achieve their goals. I tailor treatment to the needs of each individual that I have the pleasure of working with by incorporating a variety of therapeutic methodologies.

Alisha Linder, LAC



My name is Alisha Linder, and I have lived in Arizona for over 20 years after growing up in Missouri.  My husband and I have been married for over 25 years, have three children, and a very spoiled dog.  I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, hiking, spinning, and reading.

I am a licensed associate counselor that has experience counseling couples, children (ages 7 and up), teens, families, and individuals. I have worked with diverse populations and have a firm commitment to equitable treatment of all people.  I believe in the power of counseling to support the healing journey of those in mental and emotional pain.  I have advanced training in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and utilize Gottman Couples Therapy methods and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy).


Choosing to go to counseling can be difficult, but it is a decision to help yourself that takes strength and courage.  It is an investment in yourself.  My approach is compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I want to create a space where clients feel safe and can be honest with themselves. I believe in the therapeutic relationship and collaborate with my clients to create positive change in their life.  I work with clients to identify their goals and specific needs.  Every client’s journey is unique and working together we can begin the healing process.  

My ultimate goal is to help you increase happiness in your life. I look forward to working with you!

I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University and am currently working towards independent licensure under the supervision of Holly Essler, LCSW.
